Citing contract negotiations and "competitive pressure," Domtar reported that its pricing for uncoated freesheet (UFS) paper started this year down by $20/ton in January from its average level in fourth-quarter 2016.
The company, North America's largest UFS producer by capacity, took 45,000 tons of market-related downtime in the fourth quarter and expected another 25,000 tons of downtime in the first quarter this year.
