With surging export demand for extensible sack kraft grades and tightening kraft paper supply from swing containerboard machines, North American kraft paper producers are pushing through their announced $30/ton price increase on unbleached multiwall grades in April, contacts report.
"With the shortage of paper in the market, we are having no problem implementing the price increase," one contact said. "The amount of the increase is pretty reasonable, with the market tight and everyone oversold."
