WestRock is relocating its main Atlanta-area office location to Northpark Town Center in the Perimeter Center area of Atlanta. The 180,000 ft2 space owned by Cousins Properties will house about 800 WestRock employees, including sr leadership, corporate support functions, and commercial teams. Perimeter Center is one of Atlanta's largest business districts, is north of Atlanta proper, and within three cities: Brookhaven, Dunwoody, and Sandy Springs. "This office will provide additional space for growth for our team and will enable us to enhance collaboration by co-locating key functions," said WestRock pres/CEO Steve Voorhees in a release. Huhtamaki and Verst Group Logistics agreed on a "long-term dedicated" contract for Verst to manage Huhtamaki's new more than $100 million 750,000 ft2 warehousing and distribution facility in Goodyear, AZ. Huhtamaki at Goodyear will make food service packaging and retail tableware products for West Coast customers, the company said. A Phoenix suburb, Goodyear is named after Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, which purchased property 100 years ago to make cotton for tire threads. The Goodyear Huhtamaki facility is to open first as a distribution center early this year and manufacturing operations are to be added later this year. Huhtamaki North America makes tableware, cups, folding cartons, containers, carriers, trays, and serviceware for foodservice industry and retail markets, and its portfolio includes Chinet.
