Brazilian and global leading bleached eucalyptus kraft (BEK) pulp producer Fibria announced new price increases for Europe, North America and Asia, effective May 1. In Europe, the company said it will raise its BEK prices by $40/tonne to $820/tonne. In North America, Fibria will also adjust BEK pulp prices by $40/tonne to hit $1,000/tonne. In Asia, the company said it will adjust prices by $20/tonne to $670/tonne.
Horizonte 2. Fibria stated that the new digester for its second line under construction in Três Lagoas, Mato Grosso do Sul state, is already being assembled. “All of its six modules are already positioned forming a tower. The next steps will be the electrical and instrumental assembly, as well as insulation. Then the equipment will be ready for tests,” Fibria said.
