Brazilian Eldorado said it traded 1.665 million tonnes of bleached eucalyptus kraft (BEK) pulp in 2016, 6.7% more than in 2015. The company's BEK output also improved 5% to 1.638 million tonnes last year, after production records were hit at its sole Três Lagoas mill, in Midwest Brazil.
The Três Lagoas unit kicked off in December 2012 and was initially designed to produce 1.5 million tonnes/yr of BEK, but it is currently prepared to produce up to 1.7 million tonnes/yr, the company stated.
